Supporting the commissioning editor by working closely with authors, ensuring books progress efficiently and punctually. Reading content and providing detailed feedback for authors based on target readership and desired reader outcomes. Conducting peer reviews and market research. Working closely with colleagues from production and marketing department. Commissioning new editions. Representing and supporting the company at conferences and events.

Editing reports on a wide range of UN-related topics. Proofreading reports before publication.

Assisting Editor with commissioning duties. Organising peer reviews of book proposals under consideration. Drafting and sending author contracts. Chasing manuscripts under contract and negotiating delivery deadlines. Preparing manuscripts for transmittal to production, and meeting transmittal targets. Monitoring schedules and delivery dates to ensure timely publications. Crafting product copy to enhance discoverability in the market. Chair and vice-chair of weekly Editorial Assistant meetings. Maintaining databases and systems.

Assisting the Managing Editors and Publisher in the management and development of Taylor & Francis' list of peer-reviewed journals in Engineering, providing project support as and when required. Main point of contact for editors, authors and other stakeholders. Responsible for building industry and marketing awareness, attending conferences and events as appropriate.

Involved with numerous tasks in establishing and developing the growing start up company The Pertinent Press. These include: liaising with international authors, reviewers and customers; website editing and maintenance; copyediting manuscripts, proofreading and substantial editing of translated texts and developing promotional materials and marketing. Our most noteworthy publication has been Invicta: The Life and Work of Daphne Caruana Galizia, which raised over 10,000 EUR for charity and was reviewed in The Sunday Times of Malta.

Organising series and projects in DAM database developed so videos, images and other assets could be more easily reused by OUP's English Language Teaching department. This primarily entailed creating tags and metadata in Excel spreadsheets and ensuring that assets were assigned their correct copyright terms. I also appeared in an interview for an educational video filmed to teach Spanish speakers English.

Month long placement in Berlin where I worked in a team to produce a travel guide aimed at young people for the city. Wrote reviews on landmarks, museums, eateries and activities. Produced page layout design of e-Book. Organised and coordinating book content. Proofed text and edited photos.

My main role was proofreading revises of articles for a range of academic journals and marking up corrections provided by the authors and editors. I also ensured that copyright forms and online metadata were correctly completed.
