Overview

I have worked in numerous positions in academic publishing including helping manage and direct a start up company established in 2017 as well in roles for Routledge and Oxford University Press. I am currently interested in any freelance opportunities in any subject, field or level of English.

I am a member of Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP), and I abide by their Code of Practice for editorial excellence.

Involved with numerous tasks in establishing and developing the growing start up company The Pertinent Press. These include: liaising with international authors, reviewers and customers; website editing and maintenance; copyediting manuscripts, proofreading and substantial editing of translated texts and developing promotional materials and marketing. Our most noteworthy publication has been Invicta: The Life and Work of Daphne Caruana Galizia, which raised over 10,000 EUR for charity and was reviewed in The Sunday Times of Malta.

Organising series and projects in DAM database developed so videos, images and other assets could be more easily reused by OUP's English Language Teaching department. This primarily entailed creating tags and metadata in Excel spreadsheets and ensuring that assets were assigned their correct copyright terms. I also appeared in an interview for an educational video filmed to teach Spanish speakers English.
