Overview
Consistency, clarity, and correctness can be difficult when you're writing conlangs, building imaginary worlds, juggling more than one narrative thread, and creating legendary mythical characters. As a fellow author (and massive SFF/H nerd), I know how difficult it can be to make *that* scene work or *this* line sound as great on the page as it does in your head, and then to read it *yet again* to proofread and fix all the little mistakes that multiply like gremlins! As an awards-finalist SFF/H fiction and nonfiction author myself, I know writing from that side of the desk. As a former senior lecturer in creative writing with extensive experience supporting authors as well as editing and proofreading fiction, nonfiction, dissertations, and educational materials, I know what it's like from the other side of the desk, too.
I'm an American who has lived in the UK for fourteen years and taught here for ten; I work with both US and UK English (SPaG: spelling, punctuation, and grammar). As a graduate of the Clarion Writers' Workshop (2009) and Viable Paradise (2008), a regular attendee of the Milford SF Writer's Workshop, and an active speaker and panellist at SFF/H conventions and other events, I know and love these genres and work to build as beneficial and respectful a relationship as possible between myself and my clients.
"Tiffani edited my first two published books and delivered flawless editing each time--to the point where reviews commented on how polished and well edited the stories were. She is punctual, detailed, and respectful of voice--in short, a wonderful editor. I highly recommend Tiffani."
– Melanie Ansley, author of Theo and the Forbidden Language and The Queen and the Dagger
"Tiffani A. was the copy editor on the first book in my debut dystopian near-future thriller series. I come from a film-making background--which is a big team effort every step of the way--so after being immersed inside my own head during the many solo months writing the first three books, the chance to collaborate with someone with Tiffani’s depth of experience and attention to detail was fantastic. I will absolutely be knocking on her door again for the next books. She was an absolute pleasure to work with and the first book in my soon-to-be-bestselling series is better for it!"
– Richard Slater-Jones (Author of the New Rome Rising series, to be launched early 2025)
I am deeply appreciative of Dr. A for her meticulous copy editing of my 80,000-word thesis. The tracked changes document, accompanied by 392 detailed comments, provided invaluable guidance. I have systematically addressed each comment and am confident that these revisions have significantly enhanced the quality of my work. Thanks to Dr. A’s thorough, considerate, and encouraging approach, I am submitting my thesis on time with greatly reduced anxiety. Her support not only improved my thesis but also bolstered my confidence in achieving my PhD. I wholeheartedly recommend her services to others.
