Teaching a course on Making Meaningful Photographs
- Designed immersive photography program and will lead an intensive 2 day workshop September 2017. Course takes place at Sitka Center for Art and Ecology where we will explore the nature preserve surrounding Sitka.
Develop curriculum and instruct courses in Advanced Photo Illustration, Ink Jet Printing, and Portfolio Development courses.
Established pilot program with Trillium employee Laura Stanley under the name Photosynthesis and independently founded the program in 2016 as Light Box Laboratories, a photography based art-therapy program dedicated to serving underprivileged and at-risk teens.
Awarded Fiscal Sponsorship with Taking Focus, Inc in 2016, securing in-kind donations totaling over $1500 and raising $2600 with which six Nikon dSLR camera kits with lenses were acquired.
Created and taught a curriculum focused on encouraging self-expression and teaching basic camera and computer software skills.
Established partnerships within the community, garnered their support and induced and collected their donations.

Teresa Meier has an MFA in photography and and a BS in psychology. She teaches photography with an emphasis on art as therapy and works freelance as an illustrator and photographer.
