Tegan Raleigh

Tegan Raleigh – Editor

Editor and translator who works primarily with novelists and academics

Overview

I grew up in a journalism family and storytelling is definitely in my bones.

I'm an omnivorous reader, and my daily fare might include everything from French linguistics articles to an LGBTQ+ romantasy to a history of Arabic philosophy. With an an intuitive grasp of style and voice across a range of registers, I've honed my craft through years of experience, training, and teaching.

I get immense satisfaction working with authors. As a writer myself who is currently writing a biography, I understand how precious creative work is and am proud to help my authors prepare their work for publication.

My collegial approach is indebted especially to my two years of workshops in an MFA program (Literary Translation, University of Iowa). I have also taught workshops at the university level, in addition to courses in language, writing, and literature.

Working with Tegan is pure joy. She is very professional, opened-minded and has a heart felt desire to meet the writer's vision. She made my text better with her translation. We made a great team and I would hire her again. Very happy with our collaboration. I highly recommend her.
