I have spent the past eleven years working as a freelance editor, specialising in children's fiction. The work I do primarily comprises structural editing, copy editing and proofreading, though I also write reports on manuscripts suitability for publication. Regular clients include Faber and Faber, Bloomsbury, Usborne, Macmillan, Farshore (formerly Egmont) and Little Tiger Press.
As well as managing the editorial team, new titles I commissioned include Frost Hollow Hall by Emma Carroll, the Atticus Claw series by Jennifer Grey, and Alex, the Dog and the Unopenable Door by Ross Montgomery (Branford Boase shortlisted).
Authors I worked with include Terry Deary (on his young historical fiction titles).
I worked on non-fiction titles, including the award-winning Horrible Science series, Horrible Geography series, Horribly Famous series and My Story series.
