susila baybars – Editor

A thoughtful and insightful editor of children's books with 25+ years experience.

Overview

A passionate editor of children's books, I work primarily on fiction from age seven to teen, and have a particular interest in historical fiction, middle grade fantasy and contemporary novels. Among the talented and award-winning authors I have been lucky enough to work with are Emma Carroll, Terry Deary, Alex Bell, Katherine Woodfine and Kieran Larwood. I have a keen eye for detail and am meticulous and rigorous in my approach to editing a manuscript, making sure timelines are accurate, characters are believable and the plotting has no holes, but I also make sure I treat the text sensitively and always endeavour to let the author's voice shine through whether I am doing a structural edit, a close line edit or a final proofread.
