I am a qualified editor, proofreader and writing professional. I love the power of the written word to connect people and record cultures. Apart from web content, e-newletters and other marketing materials, I really enjoy collaborating with authors to craft a better book. I have worked with several indie publishers on books ranging from forestry to science fiction.
My latest project has been to reduce to manageable size the 401,000-word memoir of a retired actress who has lived her whole life in the oldest house in Melbourne, Australia. Her memories date back to 1842, overseeing changes from a grand 19th century city to one of towering skyscrapers, marking the signs of progress with a lament for loss of community. As she is now 94, she left to me the editing, researching, finding a publisher, sourcing the images, organising the book launch and publicity. It's been a fantastic journey, and one I hope to repeat with other authors.
Edited over 401,000 words to 90,000 of 94-year-old' family history and memoirs. Researched family history, drew family trees, organised publication, book launch and marketing.
Edited fiction, fantasy, crime, non-fiction, memoirs
