Danielle Storm – Editor

Expert in academic texts and educational supplements: copyediting, proofreading, content writing, author management, and research.

Overview

I'm a freelance publishing professional providing copyediting, proofreading, development, content, and manuscript prep. I specialize in academic texts and supplements, but have experience in other areas as well. I am also an experienced, registered yoga teacher with knowledge of the wellness and fitness world. I'm hoping to work on some academic projects and to perhaps also marry my yoga and wellness world with my editing and writing skills. I offer a wide range of publishing services having worked in many areas and on several subjects. If you're looking to put together a book, I can help you in the process.

Work on editing projects of various types as they are available. I have edited a poetry text, based in spirituality and a yoga text on anatomy as it relates to the energetic body.

Self-employed

Feb, 2008 — Aug, 2016 (over 8 years)

Freelance publishing professional with extensive experience in proofreading, copyediting, project management, and quiz-writing in college-level texts and supplements.
I began my career as an editorial assistant in the Psychology group at Worth Publishers, now an imprint of MacMillan US. While there I advanced to assistant editor and then moved from Psychology to help grow our new Custom Publishing department in the hard and soft sciences. I spent two years there building the program, creating and providing custom texts and supplements for colleges and universities. In that role I was involved in every aspect of the texts we created: from developing ideas with professors and sales reps, helping to create new custom content, editing existing texts into custom texts, to working with design and production through to printing and shipping until we had texts on shelves. With this breadth of knowledge I left the company full time and began freelancing. My freelancing experience was also diverse - prepping manuscript, copyediting and proofing texts, research and statistical representation, editing and writing testbanks, lecture slides, and instructors' manuals, and training in, managing authors for, and editing interactive online learning supplements from inception to live product.
I would love to bring my diverse publishing knowledge to your project. While I have a strong background in academics, especially psychology, I would love to expand into other areas. I am an experienced registered yoga teacher, a mother, and have a degree in Creative and Professional Writing from Carnegie Mellon University as well as a Certificate in Editing from NYU.
