I have an extensive professional background in copyediting and proofreading of books for a range of academic publishing houses. Between the years 2002 and 2015 I had worked as a production editor and editor of a specialist publishing programme for Routledge. Since 2022, I have been copyediting academic textbooks for Oxford University Press USA and Routledge. I have also edited a research funding application for an academic group. I am familiar with the Chicago Manual of Style and APA style. I can edit your books in either UK or US English.

I ensure that my work method focuses on author care, accuracy, and being responsive to any queries that the authors may have. All this while also respecting the author's voice. I love to build a familiarity with the author's writing style as it so often makes a difference in making focused queries and offering suggestions. That way I can establish a warm relationship with the author, some of whom have given me a good public review of my work, be it on my LinkedIn profile or in the acknowledgements in their books. My own passion for good written English drives me on. I can bring this attentiveness and diligence to Reedsy's authors.

I provide edited Word files, a style sheet, where appropriate a list of general queries.
