Overview
Hi, my name's Sophie, I'm an Illustrator based in South London with a passion to communicate complex topics into engaging and easy to understand visuals. Ive been working within the industry for 10 wonderful years and I live and breathe visual communication.
Predominantly specialising in Health Illustration, I work in collaboration with individual health experts, broader health and design agencies and well-being publishers to create effective visual content; using illustration as an engaging communicative device to explain complex subjects.
I work with a number of health and design agencies, working to develop both their In-house brand and their extended clients’ projects where I have used illustration in website design, research reports and app designs.
I've also created 7 'graphic medicine' novels on topics such as Pain, Trauma, Autism, Anxiety, Forgiveness, Dementia and Touch. Anxiety is Really Strange and Pain is Really Strange are part of The Reading Well Scheme which allows people to loan the books in every library in England.
I love working closely with authors to find their ideal visual identity and create eye-catching Illustrations to enrich their projects. My process usually involves working out an initial strong concept and then building upon this to generate character design, colour themes and rich textures.
