Overview

I am a children's book editor at Scholastic where I have worked with a number of incredibly talented authors, including Joanna Ho, Marc Brown, Kelly Dipucchio, Ruby Bridges, and more, over the course of almost four years.

My expertise is in children's fiction for ages 4-8. I am skilled at providing developmental edits and line edits, as well as feedback on marketability and query letter reviews. I love getting into the nitty-gritty details of word choice, punctuation choice, and page flips, all of which are elements that are integral to the perfect read-aloud. Helping writers tease out the thesis of their story to make a snappy and satisfying read is my ultimate goal!

I have worked on several picture books, board books, and readers over the course of my career and provided developmental feedback at every stage. As an editor, the most important goal for me is making sure that the writer's voice is stand out throughout the text and my favorite part of editing is being able to partner with the author to tease out the thesis of their story to make it stronger.

As a bookseller at an independent bookstore, I had the pleasure of pairing up the right books with the right readers. My appreciation for the reader has not waned since my bookselling days, and as I transitioned to my editing job, the joy of the reader when they find the right book is top if mind as I work with authors on their craft.
