Work experience

Biome Brigade

Aug, 2024 — Dec, 2024 (5 months)
I was hired to co-write Biome Brigade, a children’s book that combines science, adventure, and humor to educate young readers about microbiomes and pet health. The story centers on a heroic team—the Biome Brigade—who shrink down to microscopic size to fight bad bacteria inside a sick dog named Charlie.

New York State - Department of Health

Feb, 2023 — Present
I serve as the co-writer for Tested, an animated web comic series developed by the New York State Department of Health to promote public health awareness in underserved communities.

DMC from RUN-DMC

Feb, 2022 — Apr, 2025 (about 3 years)
I’ve written two major creative projects for Darryl “DMC” McDaniels of the legendary hip-hop group Run-DMC. I wrote Volume 4 of the DMC graphic novel series and his stage play.

Marvel

Nov, 2021 — Dec, 2022 (about 1 year)
I was commissioned by Marvel to write an original story set in Wakanda, centering on the Dora Milaje. I created a new character, Chanté, a fierce but impulsive trainee struggling to pass her final trial. Through intense training, ancestral wisdom, and a folktale about Anansi the Spider, she learns that strategy and discipline matter as much as strength.

DC comics

Nov, 2021 — Aug, 2022 (9 months)
I’ve written for DC Comics on several projects, including Wonder Woman: Black and Gold #6, and I contributed to Wonderful Women of the World, writing a biographical comic honoring a global changemaker.

Black Girl Ventures

Oct, 2021 — May, 2022 (7 months)
I served as the ghostwriter for Originate, Motivate, Innovate: 7 Steps for Building a Billion Dollar Network by Shelly Omilâdé Bell, founder of Black Girl Ventures. Published by Wiley, this empowering business book offers a groundbreaking framework for women of color navigating the world of entrepreneurship and venture capital.

Temple University

Feb, 2021 — Feb, 2022 (about 1 year)
I authored BLAM! Black Lives Always Mattered!, a 164-page nonfiction graphic novel published by the Charles L. Blockson Afro-American Collection with support from the Pew Center for Arts & Heritage. The book spotlights 14 underrepresented African American pioneers from 20th-century Philadelphia—leaders like Marian Anderson, W.E.B. Du Bois, Ruth Wright Hayre, and Alain Locke—through vivid storytelling and full-color illustrations by a team of celebrated Black artists.

Prison Yoga Project

Feb, 2020 — Feb, 2021 (about 1 year)
I was hired by the Prison Yoga Project to write the script for a comic book that explores trauma, incarceration, and the path to healing through mindfulness. The story follows two teenage boys navigating grief, violence, and limited options in a system stacked against them.

Self-employed

Jan, 2016 — Present
I’ve ghostwritten memoirs, nonfiction books, comic books and graphic novels for CEOs, celebrities, and changemakers. My projects focus on legacy, impact, and emotionally resonant storytelling that connects with diverse audiences. Clients include DMC from RUN-DMC, Black Girl Ventures, Prison Yoga Project, Marvel comics, DC comics, and more.
