Sarah Powell – Editor

Children's book writer and editor / Worked in-house for some of the world's biggest publishers and brands / Specialise in 0-7 years

Overview

Hello! I am a freelance children's book writer and editor with ten years publishing experience, nine of which were spent in-house at some of the world's biggest publishers working on global children's brands. I specialise in licensed books and preschool titles, but have written and edited many non-fiction titles, educational titles and craft books.

I wrote in-house at publishers on Disney, Hello Kitty and Schoolies, and have a large portfolio of books for ages 0-7 spanning storybooks, activity books and novelty titles. I recently developed my own IP with a friend as part of Happy Cloud Creative and love creating and developing style guides and books with a character brand focus.

I'm a highly visual editor and if there was one skill I wish I could add to my skill set it would be illustration. Luckily for me I have worked with some amazing illustrators and designers instead, and often get to see my ideas come alive through their amazing talents.
