Sarah Ell

Sarah Ell – Editor

I am a New Zealand-based freelance editor, proofreader, writer and editorial consultant with more than 20 years' experience.

Overview

I am an freelance editor, proofreader, writer and editorial consultant with more than 20 years' experience in the publishing industry. I have edited and proofread a wide range of fiction and non fiction titles, for adults and young adults/children, especially in the areas of history, natural history, lifestyle (e.g. architecture, cooking, self-help) biography and sports. I have a BA in History and a Master of Creative Writing degree and a professional background in journalism, book and magazine publishing. As I am based in New Zealand, I am primarily interested in work from this part of the world - New Zealand and Australia. However, I have a broad general knowledge, a passion for making good work even better, and a friendly, approachable style when it comes to working collaboratively. As the author of 11 published books myself, I know what authors need and want in an editor. I have also ghost-written several books, as well as worked on substantive structural edits and rewrites.
