Overview
I'm Sarah, a senior book designer who spent the last decade designing book covers and interiors (and drinking many-a-cup of tea) for an indie publishing company in Montana.
The company recently sold to a major east coast publisher and now I'm thrilled to work directly with authors.
I love working with creative types—authors like you—because it allows me to push boundaries and explore areas of design to inspire the artist in all of us.
My work embraces the simplicity of negative space and the use of color, texture, and imagery. I’m fueled by the art on my walls, the pages of my books, and photos from my travels.
I blend the creative elements of design with the strategic elements of marketing in order to translate each project's goals into a refined book. My process is streamlined by the creative flow and punctuality. My clients appreciate that I'm efficient with my time, quick to respond, and work to exceed expectations.
When I’m not pushing pixels, I can be found spending time in the great outdoors with my husband and daughter, restoring our 1890’s fixer-upper, or snuggled up with a good book and my cat, Crookshanks.
A self-proclaimed work-from-homebody, I design from my little home office in a town nestled between the mountains in Montana.

Work experience
Riverbend Publishing
I collaborated closely with the publisher on concept development to execution. I also designed and prepared promotional materials, designed and maintained the company website, and developed ebooks.
Self-employed
I partner with authors, agencies, and small businesses to design and develop websites. I translate project goals, user needs, and technical requirements into websites that are thoughtful, engaging, and user-centric.
