Hello!
My name is Samantha and I am an artist and designer who specialises in book cover artwork and design for TV and film. I’m from Merseyside in the UK.
I generally spend my days drinking ridiculous amounts of black coffee, and listening to 90s hip hop while I draw or design on my Mac. Apparently singing along badly (so I’m told).
I have a varied portfolio of published book cover designs. Over 20 are sold in Waterstones, held in the British National Library and the vaults of Cambridge and Oxford universities.
I love to draw and my portfolio is predominantly illustrative. But I also dabble in photo collage and mixed media composition. Photography is also a skill of mine. I have a 1st class degree in Graphic Design that included photography classes and I use these and license stock images for my designs. I was shortlisted for the 2022 Brighton Fringe, Print for Design award with one of my designs featuring photography.
I also work for a TV production company, creating props for Hollyoaks on Channel 4 and developing title logos for new shows and films that head off to Netflix, Apple TV, the BBC etc.
I’m highly conceptual and can deliver concepts that express the content of your manuscript in ways you won’t have considered. I also select colour palette and typography that expresses the content.
