Rudy Leon – Editor

Experienced editor and indexer of cookbooks and non-fiction. I help your voice shine, and craft useful and efficient indexes

Overview

On Reedsy, I focus on cookbooks (dessert, global cuisines, vegetarian and vegan foods, and cocktails in particular) and trade books about food and foodways. I have six years of experience as an editor and indexer, with specialized training as a cookbook indexer. I have indexed a half dozen cookbooks, and am looking forward to working with you.

I also edit and index scholarly work. I have extensive experience working with materials across the humanities and social sciences, especially political science, gender studies, media and communication studies, LIS, history, and American, African-American and ethnic studies.

I particularly enjoy helping early career scholars create successful book proposals, and navigate the challenges of turning the dissertation into a publishable book.

I can be reached via my website.

I provide editing and indexing services in the social sciences and humanities. I also index cookbooks. I have deep familiarity with Chicago, APA and a variety of house styles

I have provided copyediting services for authors working with a wide variety of scholarly publishers, including Cornell University Press, Utah State University Press, University of Chicago Press, UMass Press, Taylor and Francis, Routledge, and Sage. I edit journal articles and white papers and am a regular freelancer for a series of National Park Services histories, as well as for the Journal of Library Outreach and Engagement and the Journal for Policy Analysis and Management

In addition, I index scholarly works, including a particular specialization with Cambridge University Press embedded indexing.
