Rozi D. – Editor

Multilingual Editor specializing in Women’s Fiction and Young Adult, with 15 years of experience at Time Inc. and Penguin Random House

Overview

Hi there! I'm Rozi, and it’s great to meet you.

I’m a developmental and line editor based in NYC with over 15 years of experience working with independent authors and publishers, including Time Inc. and Penguin Random House. I specialize in women’s fiction, young adult, and mysteries/thrillers. I'm especially drawn to stories with complex female characters.

My editing approach is collaborative and client-focused. I believe in preserving your unique voice as an author while ensuring your manuscript has depth, coherence, and engagement. My goal is to provide clear, actionable feedback that enhances your manuscript’s strengths and addresses its weaknesses.

I also work with authors for whom English is not their first language, helping them refine their manuscripts while maintaining the authenticity of their voice. Having a background in multiple languages myself, I understand the nuances of writing in a second language and offer tailored support to ensure clarity and flow.

I’d love to work with you if you:

— Have a story you’re passionate about.

— Love writing and believe “revision is one step closer to done.”

— Want to create strong, complex female characters.

— Avoid clichés and want your story to stand out.

— Aspire to become a published author and share your voice with the world.

— Value a collaborative, supportive editing relationship.

Key services I offer include:

Developmental Editing (structure, pacing, character development)

Line Editing (style, flow, clarity)

Copyediting (grammar, syntax, consistency)

If you’re looking for an editor who’s detail-obsessed and passionate about helping you achieve your publishing goals, drop me a line, and let’s chat!

Rozi gave me so much insight into my manuscript and really took the time to breakdown all of the areas to work on. The thorough analysis has given me a lot to work with and as I go through the edits, I can tell each note was made carefully and with consideration of the story's improvement. Rozi was a wonderful editor and I look forward to future collaborations.

I hired Rozi for a copy edit, and she went above and beyond! She did the copy edit but also gave me some "line edit" style feedback because she said she didn't want to miss an opportunity to help make my book great. The feedback she gave allowed me to see the flaws in my manuscript, and I am convinced it's going to be an infinitely better book because of her help. I felt like she was invested i...

I could not recommend Rozi's services enough, I decided to try my hand at writing 5 years ago, when a retired from a full teaching career. I decided to publish my third novel, and turned to Reedsy for some professional support. Right away I knew Rozi was my first choice for my special project. Her educational and professional background is impeccable, and I felt she could best support my needs...

I was hoping to work with other editors before rating Rozi, as this was my first time working with an editor. (Reedsy told me I have 7 days left to review. So here I am.) So take my 4 stars with a grain of salt. My reasoning, I was told reoccurring offenses or suggestions would not be highlighted in later chapters and that it was up to me to find them based on the already pointed out suggestio...
