Overview
For over 20 years now, I have been happily creating images for children’s publications in the PreK through 3rd grade market. My work has appeared in children’s books, board books, numerous activity books and children’s magazines.
All of my work is done digitally, using Photoshop for storybook illustrations and Adobe Illustrator for vector art, mostly for educational materials.
My experience for storybook art includes character design, cover art and creating full color, print ready illustrations. When illustrating a story, I try to create images that can add a little something extra to the text. Whether it’s through the facial expressions or a detail hidden in the background, it’s fun to add a little surprise for the reader.
For the educational market, I have created full color images, black and white line art and grayscale images. For this market, I am sensitive to create images that are clean, clear and concise. I also like to include children from different ages groups and different backgrounds and nationalities.
I love the challenge of coming up with illustrations that engage young readers and make them want to turn that page. Do you have a story to tell? Let’s see what we can create together!
