Robin Catalano

Robin Catalano – Editor

Developmental editor, copyeditor, proofreader & author coach with demonstrated expertise in helping authors achieve publishing goals.

Overview

For more than two decades, I've served as an author coach, developmental editor, copyeditor, and proofreader. I've edited more than 300 fiction and non-fiction books in a wide range of genres, from sci-fi to YA, self-help, cooking, and business, for publishers including Penguin Random House, Storey Books, Scholastic, Workman, Inner Traditions International, and Chelsea Green.

I specialize in helping authors who aren't professional writers but who are experts in their field shape their ideas into books that sell and position them as industry leaders. Let's talk about your project, and how I might be able to support your needs.

Testimonials:
"I love working with Robin. Writing a book is such a vulnerable experience and her skill, insight, and guidance were so welcome at the end of the out pouring of my soul! I was able to accept all of her changes, creating better flow for my book, and also, expand where her comments prompted me. I especially appreciated her attention to detail in the content. I look forward to working with her again and again and again!"
- Kim Perone, author, Success, Spiritual & Life Transition Coach, The Case for Clarity, Compassion & Contentment

"Working with Robin as a book editor was the perfect author-editor relationship. She was respectful of my style yet never let a misplaced form of punctuation nor a run-on sentence get by her eagle eyes. And her sharp skills were softened by a deliciously wry wit. I know she made my books easier to read and staved off grammar police.”
—Diana Rosen, author, Taking Time for Tea, CHAI: The Spice Tea of India, The Book of Green Tea, Steeped in Tea

“Thanks so much for the amazing and meticulous job you did to make my manuscript better and clearer and more readable. I’m so very grateful for your expertise. I’ve made some notes for myself about grammatical and usage errors I am apparently prone to. :).”
—Bailey Cates, author, Magic & Macaroons

“Robin’s excellent and very thorough advice on how to write a book proposal helped me land my very first book deal!”
—Maria Annala, freelance journalist
