Overview
As authors, we like working alone. We flinch at giving up any creative control. You get a better end result, however, when you delegate to people who, within their area, really know what they are doing. Writing may be solitary, but publishing is collaborative.
I do not use AI. I am proudly old-school. I will read your manuscript all the way through before I begin to work on it. This will help me understand what your story is all about, and to understand your particular style of writing. Then I will read your manuscript again, sentence by sentence, page by page, proofing as I go. No shortcuts.
I only accept one freelance project at a time, so I can focus on it, give it the attention it deserves, and finish it sooner.
If you ask five Reedsy editors for a quote, I probably will not be the cheapest. I probably will not be the most expensive, either.
I have worked with many famous authors, most of whom have written lots of books, but I especially love working with writers who have never been published before. It would be wonderful to assist you as you go from being "a writer" to being "an author."
If you are from a country other than the US, or if English is not your first language, please note that I excel at Americanizing manuscripts in a sensitive and judicious manner. I will strive to preserve your unique vision, voice, and style while improving the story's readability for its first publication in the US market.
As an Americanization specialist, I have worked with bestselling and award-winning authors like Sally Page, Minette Walters, Sara Foster, Marc-Uwe Kling, Anthony Ryan, James Phelan, John Higgs, Marceau Miller, and many more.
Looking for something else? I have a wide range of editorial skills and would be happy to consider your proposal. I welcome and respond to all queries.
