Rannia Makrygianni – Designer

I am a creative designer and Illustrator with great experience in book cover design and also other design stuff! I hold an MA in Communication Design with specialisation in editorial design, from ESAD Matosinhos in Porto, Portugal, where I lived for around three years. My thesis was about books and cinema. My working experience as a designer is related to various fields of design, such as cinema (yes I have worked in a film distribution company!), stationary, educational programs for children, branding, web design, social media etc. My work focuses mostly on the creative part but I also enjoy working on the more practical parts of design. I also illustrate children's books, which I really enjoy.I have also studied Marketing & Communication in AUEB, Athens. I have a great love for books and reading and this is what really turned me towards this direction of work. I consider books as whole new worlds waiting to be discovered. I try to develop my skills with every opportunity, as my greatest fear is to remain stale. My communication and marketing skills have helped my job to grow but I also can be a good advisor for campaigns and growth plans. During the years of my experience (around 12) I have also developed art direction skills which make me a good design consultant in combination with "a good eye" on aesthetics (as people use to tell me!).I really love what I do and feel quite privileged and lucky for that. I always support people who try to do what they love for a living because I know how satisfying this feels. I am a huge animal and plant lover. Actually I love everything about nature, from which I get a lot of inspiration. I love also travelling and getting to know people from all over the globe. My second language is laughter and my great helper in every step of my career (11 years now!) is my beloved cat, Toulio. I am also a Hygge fan and this is why I have as a manifest to always enjoy the process!
