Rannia Makrygianni – Designer

I am a Creative Designer and Illustrator with extensive experience in book cover design and visual storytelling. I hold an MA in Communication Design with a specialization in Editorial Design from ESAD Matosinhos in Porto, Portugal, where I lived for three years. My master’s thesis focused on the fascinating intersection of books and cinema—a passion that has defined much of my career.

My professional background spans over 12 years across diverse fields, including film distribution, stationery design, branding, web design, and educational programs for children. While my work focuses heavily on the creative and conceptual stages, I truly enjoy the practical, technical side of design. I also find great joy in illustrating children’s books.

My foundation began in Athens at AUEB, where I studied Marketing & Communication. This background allows me to serve as a strategic advisor for campaigns and growth plans, combining market logic with art direction. My peers often credit me with having a "good eye" for aesthetics, but I believe my strength lies in my drive to constantly evolve; my greatest fear is remaining stale, so I treat every project as an opportunity to sharpen my skills.

I consider books to be whole new worlds waiting to be discovered, and I feel incredibly privileged to do what I love for a living. I am a staunch supporter of anyone following their passion. Outside of the studio, I am a lover of animals, plants, and the natural world, which serves as my primary source of inspiration.

I am a firm believer in the Hygge philosophy—always enjoying the process. I love traveling, meeting new people, and I consider laughter to be my second language. For 12 years, my beloved cat Toulio was my great career helper; today, his successor, my cat Tuffi, carries on the tradition of keeping me company in the studio.
