Rachel Williams – Designer

I'm friendly, professional and most importantly, I'm a creative designer! I have experience in creating books from conception through to the final print product.

For many years I worked leading a team of designers creating luxury finish novels, as the Senior Designer in Black Library. I created the visual identity for the Warhammer Horror range, designing novels such as 'Castle of Blood', 'Sepulturum', and 'Maledictions'. My specialism was luxury finish editions where I created bespoke specifications for each book, designed and often illustrated the products. My style is graphic linework, bold use of colour and gothic influences.

My working process is collaborative, I want to make sure I'm understanding the story and creating something that really communicates that narrative. In my opinion books should be beautiful, in this digital world the delight in holding a beautiful object is an important part of the experience of reading and collecting books. I'm professional, friendly and knowledgeable - I'll make sure to communicate as I progress, will provide sketches, before moving onto the illustrations and offer variants to colour palettes and compositions if desired. We can work together to make something special whatever your budget!
