Gabriele Angelo Liuzzi – Designer

Hi, I'm Gabriele, an italian illustrator/cover artist/art director skilled in watercolors, inks, acrylics and digital post-production.

My love for the surreal abilites of visual arts began with my very first childhood terror (and idol) - the Witch from Snow White - and evolved into a lifelong fascination with surreal aesthetics and the macabre.

Today, I sacrifice my waking hours translating into hypnotic imagery the abstractions that ancient, buried horrors, authors, and publishers whisper in my ear. To do this, I blend traditional mediums (watercolors, inks, acrylics) with digital post-production and editorial curation.

When I take on a project, I start from the notion that a cover must be a window from which it is impossible to look away... because yes, it will be the first thing a reader sees, but it must also be the last thing they forget.

Working with publishers and authors has taught me one thing: everyone has their own demons and their own vision for a cover. My job is to listen, understand that idea and give it a visual form that goes far beyond what they had ever dared to fear.
