Overview
I'm a native UK English speaker with a degree in Linguistics and Mathematics from the University of Cambridge. I also have strong IT skills and experience working in software development.
As well as fixing typos and grammatical errors, I can rewrite stilted or non-native English so that it flows better and sounds idiomatic, and I can provide feedback on the accuracy of the content and how clear and comprehensible it will be to the target audience.
Testimonials:
"I heartily recommend Rachael as a maths/science proofreader and editor. She has a fantastic eye for errors, and she can spot both general proofreading errors like typos and technical mistakes such as faulty equations. "
– Annette Stuart, Cambridge International Examinations
"[Rachael] did a superb job and it was a pleasure to work with her. She has a very sharp proof-reading eye, and has a good sense of what makes text easy to understand. She also has a very good grasp of technology. She picked up two problems with the code in my book - something that I did not expect and greatly appreciated. I strongly recommend her for STEM and technical projects, and I will ask her to help with my future books."
– Romilly Cocking, Explorer HAT Tricks (Raspberry Pi how-to book)
