Priya Talwar

Priya Talwar – Editor

Delhi-based editor, I help authors develop their ideas into credible stories. Ex commissioning editor for a traditional press

Overview

As a former commissioning editor with one of India's largest trade publishing houses, I signed new and established authors, developed many books, assessed manuscripts, & book proposals.
While I primarily offer developmental edit and manuscript review, I also copy edit. I work on commercial/trade fiction & non-fiction (except sci-fi, poetry, YA & fantasy fiction). I love memoirs, personal essays and creative non-fiction. I have worked on diverse books, including business, history, politics, memory, religion, leadership, romance, parenting, and historical thriller.
I encourage authors to share their expectations and struggles with their work. This helps me customize the edit. For instance, I can design writing exercise (s) that help you not only serve the needs of your book but also gain confidence as a writer. You can also ask me specific questions regarding anything, be it plot or structure or characters and I can show you within the manuscript what works and what could work better.
