Olive Wexler

Olive Wexler – Editor

Current literary scout and writer with a specialty in YA titles--from pitch to final draft I'll bring positivity and trade market knowledge!

Overview

My experience in the publishing industry (agency and scouting) has taught me to be a strong evaluator of any manuscript, pitch, and story arc. I know what works in the US, in international markets, and I know what changes will capture the attention of editors, agents, and readers.

As your editor, I will bring a positive and direct tone to our meetings and edits--I'm a realist, who knows what works in the world of YA (across all genres and age groups) because I read those books for a living, and I'm happy to share my expertise on the market and on your manuscript in a constructive way.

With developmental edits, I focus on strengthening voice, and characterization, and I use a knowledge of genre expectations to help you bring your story to life.

I received a B.A. in English Lit and Theater from Wesleyan University, and am a writer myself. I've read thousands of manuscripts from the slush pile and from the bestseller list, and I want to help your title join that second group!
