Nikos Panagiotopoulos – Designer

I'm a freelance graphic designer based in Europe and have been practicing for over 10 years. My main field of expertise is the layout and design of educational books, although I do enjoy taking on different projects, which helps me keep ideas fresh.

I have worked with major companies such as, EF Education First, Macmillan Publishing, and Pearson Publishing, as a freelancer, and in the past I have held the position of Design Manager for Macmillan Publishing in their offices in Athens, Greece.

Having worked on major projects for each of these companies, I have gained experience in various areas of the production of a book. Taking it from its initial stages and guiding it through to completion, where you can see a finished product on a bookshop shelf, is a very fulfilling journey and an educational experience in its own right. I have liaised with illustrators, graphic designers and printing houses, managed deadlines and budgets, and have acquired various skills in solving the problems that can arise from the demanding process of publishing a book.

I spend my free time on personal projects, which are illustration based. Although it is more of a hobby, I have had the pleasure of having one of my designs printed on a limited edition t-shirt by Diesel clothing. Moreover, my illustration and design work for the band Universe217, has won a merit for Best Record Cover, from the Greek Graphic Design and Illustration Awards in 2014.
