Overview
With a 15-year history of in-house editing for traditional publishers such as Reader’s Digest and DK/Penguin in London, I am well versed in all stages of book production. My roles have ranged from editor/proofreader to writer and managing editor.
My proudest adult titles include DK Eyewitness Travel Guides, the Reader's Digest Travels & Adventures series and a true-life account of Arctic explorer Alex Hibbett's 2013 Greenland journey.
I have scores of children's books under my belt, from devising activities for Peppa Pig fans to compiling top tips for a fun-filled sleepover, plus numerous publications under licence for Disney and Warner Bros, among others.
In my 10 years of freelancing, I have taken that comprehensive publishing experience and now offer a full-package editorial service, from content planning, proofreading and copyediting to structural editing and rewriting, plus formatting for self-publishing.
In addition to editing completed manuscripts, I can also be helpful in terms of project planning. Have an idea for a non-fiction book but don’t know where to start? I can research and formulate a workable outline plus provide solid fact sources to get you started.
I look forward to discussing your next project!

Alligator Books Ltd
As Managing Editor I ran the day-to-day editorial and design operations of this small children’s publishing company. I was the primary in-house editor, responsible for ensuring all publications were produced on time, within budget, meeting editorial and design criteria. Titles were predominantly illustrated non-fiction for audiences ranging from pre-school to 12 years.
Grandreams Ltd.
My publications at Grandreams included a wide variety of pre-school non-fiction, classic fairytales and licensed Christmas Annuals — combining fiction and activities for brands such as Barbie, Teletubbies and Manchester United Football Club.
Reader's Digest Publishing
As an editor on the RD Travels and Adventures series, I contributed to all aspects of pre-production editorial on various 192-page illustrated titles.
Dorling Kindersley
I began my publishing career at DK as PA to an Editorial Director. I then gained promotion to Editorial Assistant, working on children’s books and eventually moved to Editor level on the Eyewitness Travel Guide series.
