Natalia Vazquez Torres – Editor

Hi! I am Natalia, a Latine editor and writer who absolutely LOVES fiction. I work primarily on children's books at Charlesbridge. My editing skills have been honed through reading, writing, and earning an MFA in Creative Writing and Publishing from Emerson College.

I enjoy editing stories that are character-driven and explore emotional journeys. I love fantasy and speculative fiction but give me a good, well-grounded journey in the real world, and I will love it just as much.

I believe in the representation of voices that have not been allowed space in publishing before, and I also think characters should represent who we are on the daily. Because of this, I have also worked on books that have bilingual voices, with two languages intermingled throughout the story. If this is something you are interested in exploring, I can help you make it happen effectively; be it in the developmental editing stage, or during the copyediting and/or proofreading phases of your book, to make sure they blend smoothly, while still maintaining clarity for the reader. I can work on texts that mix in Spanish, Portuguese or French.
