They say it takes twenty thousand hours to become a master of something, and I've got that! I estimate that I've copyedited about fourteen hundred books in my twenty years as a freelance copy editor and proofreader and I love my work. Due to my respectful style and easygoing personality, I have a ton of repeat business: I'm the exclusive copy editor for Loren D. Estleman; I've copyedited and proofread numerous novels for W. Bruce Cameron, Julia Keller, Alyson Noël, Osho, Opal Carew, Donna Grant, A. C. Arthur, Augusten Burroughs, and Hannah Dennison, among others. I have a wide scope of knowledge and enjoy working on a range of genres. I've done everything from literary fiction to self-help, with some cookbooks and fantasy novels thrown in. I'd love to help polish your book and make it shine!

Freelance copy editor & proofreader

Self-employed
September, 1998 – Present (over 20 years)

This year marks twenty years that I've been working as a freelance book editor. Averaging about seventy books a year, that makes fourteen hundred titles I've worked on! During my tenure I've worked for major publishers like St. Martin's Press; Tor/Forge Books; Penguin Random House; Simon and Schuster; Hay House; Farrar, Straus and Giroux; and HarperCollins. I've also worked on books for self-publishers like CreateSpace. Before becoming a freelancer, I worked for five years in-house at a publishing house in NYC as a production editor. From manuscript to bound book, I've got you covered.
