Muna Reyal

Muna Reyal – Editor

I'm an experienced non-fiction editor, specialising in food, health and wellbeing, who loves to help develop unique voices and books.

Overview

I work with authors, publishers and agents on book manuscripts at all stages from researching and developing ideas, development or structural editing and manuscript reviewing, copyediting and proofreading.

As a publisher, I have commissioned and edited bestselling authors including One Pound Meals by Miguel Barclay, John Torode, Rick Stein, Mary Berry, Simon Hopkinson and The Great British Bake Off as well as debut books by Anne Shooter and Tess Lister of Shipton Mill, both nominated for the Best First Book Award by The Guild of Food Writers.

Author testimonials:
Rick Stein: Muna, my editorial director, who is delightfully polite but as determined a person as you are ever likely to meet. Not for nothing was this book finished on time and with so many sensible suggestions en route.
John Torode: Every team needs a captain and my captain is Muna. I bow to you.
Anne Shooter:The whole experience has been magnificent, thanks to your vision and execution.

I am also a Guest Lecturer at University of London's MA Publishing programme.
Feedback from the Programme Director: ‘it really was a very engaging and inspiring discussion for the students and many have already commented on how much they enjoyed the session.’
Student feedback: ‘Absolutely without doubt my favourite lecture this year. Thank you for a brilliant session.’

Muna's developmental edit on my cookbook exceeded expectations. Throughout the process, she was communicative and punctual -- eager to answer questions and help guide me through the editorial process as a first-time author. Her feedback was honest and substantive and I very much look forward to integrating her suggestions; I am sure I will have a much better book because of them. Muna has left ...

Muna was great from start to finish- she was punctual, communicated clearly, and her edits were very insightful and helpful. She also helped me to get the most value from her editing by helping to guide me based on where I was in the writing process. I hope to work with her again for the next round of edits!
