• Edit and copyedit all accepted articles and book reviews for both journals, including their adherence to MLA and APA styles of citation, respectively
• Proof all initial layouts and blue-line proofs and serve as intermediary between the compositors and authors/editors
• Serve as point of contact with the public for both journals
o Respond to questions and queries from potential authors
o Facilitate communication between editors and authors
o Create and post calls for papers for special issues
o Reach out to new potential evaluators, contributors, and book reviewers as necessary
• Create and maintain production schedules for both journals
o Ensure essays and book reviews move through the production pipeline from submission to evaluation to publishing or rejection
o Keep open lines of communication with editors, evaluators, and authors about status of submissions
• Manage Facebook/web presence for both journals

Copyeditor/proofreader for the academic journals Historical Performance; African Conflict and Peacebuilding Review; Africa Today; Recreation, Parks, and Tourism in Public Health; Jazz Education in Research and Practice; Journal of Muslim Philanthropy and Civil Society; and Black Diaspora Review. I have also copyedited various projects (books, articles, professional writing) for faculty, students, and presses both in the US and abroad.
