Overview
My background includes an MFA in creative writing and an editing certificate from the University of Washington. I spent four years in a private writing workshop led by author Brenda Peterson where I further honed my ability to deeply listen and offer feedback that honors an author’s intent. Currently, I provide editorial services for a variety of authors seeking independent as well as traditional publication.
My fiction and nonfiction have been published in several journals including Pitkin Review, Shark Reef, the Autumn Sound Review, Em Dash Literary Magazine, the Magnolia Review, Alaska Airlines Magazines, and UW Medicine magazine. I am also an editor and contributor of the anthology Secret Histories: Stories of Courage, Risk, and Revelation.

UW Medicine
Researched, wrote, and edited content for UW Medicine magazine as well as other print and web publications for donors, alumni, and friends of UW Medicine. Went on to continue working for them in a freelance capacity.
Talaria, Inc.
Developed content for a range of research-based, online healthcare education products for patients, nurses, and physicians. Collaborated with subject matter experts and project managers. Assisted with grant writing and editing of academic manuscripts.
Ashford University
Assisted instructors by providing guidance in an online classroom environment for forty to sixty
undergraduate students. Offered feedback on writing assignments for a variety of general
education classes. Used web-based course management and assessment software to evaluate
student work. Helped students develop expertise with APA style.
Enclara Health
Interviewed subject matter experts and wrote content for website devoted to caregivers of chronically ill loved ones. Edited and posted weekly updates to web pages including text and images. Researched news items and policy initiatives related to family caregivers. Created a summary report for a caregiving study funded by the National Institutes of Health.
Self-employed
Provide coaching, writing, and editing services to a variety of clients--from individuals, to publishers, to organizations. For authors, I offer in-depth feedback to help them achieve their creative vision and put them one step closer to landing an agent, securing a book deal, or self-publishing their manuscripts.
North Seattle Community College
Provided one-on-one as well group tutoring sessions at The Loft Writing Center. Assisted students of various academic abilities with all stages of the writing process including brainstorming, research, revision, and proofreading. Coached ESL students who wanted to improve their reading, listening, and speaking skills.
Antioch University Seattle
Edited Antioch website content for consistency and accuracy. Proofread other University Relations materials such as the schedule of classes and press releases. Assisted with web build-out for academic curricula and faculty bio information.
