I am Alex, a seasoned book editor specializing in developmental editing focusing on fiction and nonfiction. Over the past decade, I have shaped award-winning novels at Rising Action, a women-owned and operated independent publisher based in Toronto, Canada. Our titles are celebrated for their quality and are proudly distributed by Simon & Schuster.

My academic journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, majoring in Public Relations, which gave me a foundational understanding of how narratives engage audiences. I deepened my expertise by earning a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing and am currently a Ph.D. candidate in the same field at the University of Gloucestershire.

As a published author of two nonfiction books, I bring both a writer’s insight and an academic's precision to the editing process. My specialization in developmental editing allows me to work closely with authors, enhancing their manuscripts by focusing on narrative structure, character development, and thematic richness, ensuring that their stories leave a lasting impact.
