Melissa Gitari

Melissa Gitari – Editor

I am a children's book editor with over four years of experience, working on picture books/activity books all the way up to YA fiction.

Overview

Getting children excited about reading is a passion of mine, so I love collaborating with authors to help them make their books as engaging as possible! I'm currently working part time in a primary school, and speaking with children about their interests is certainly enhancing my editorial approach.

I will offer thoughtful suggestions and a thorough eye to your work while still respecting your right to veto any of my proposed edits. I'm also able to offer sensitivity reads for authors writing characters from Black female and/or working class backgrounds.
