I started my career in textbook production, which gave me a strong understanding of the rigor and rewards of book publishing. A stint in music journalism allowed me to cultivate what grabs a mass audience and the craft of good storytelling. When I shifted to museum and art book publishing almost a decade ago, I solidified a commitment to creating meaningful reading experiences and producing error-free content of the highest editorial standards.My priorities as an editor are twofold: to honor the voice of the author and maximize impact for the reader. I'm an expert copy editor and proofreader, trained in the details of grammar and style, and an experienced line and developmental editor.I have extensive experience with art, design, fashion, and photography books, and I aspire to help writers and publishers polish manuscripts in a broader range of subjects—both nonfiction and fiction. As Assistant Editor, I ran the online aggregated news operation in collaboration with staff and freelance editors: sourced news stories for the website, assigned writers, edited posts, and maintained relationships with writers. As Assistant Editor and Researcher, I worked with a supervising editor on Song Stories, an ambitious first-time digital initiative: developed and carried out leadoff workflow and procedures; managed about thirty writers; reviewed entries for quality; copyedited; wrote entries; and helped with social media campaigns.
