Overview
First things first: I do not use LLMs (so-called "AI") in any capacity as part of my editorial work (or otherwise, to be perfectly honest), and I choose not to work on LLM-generated text, including translations. If you used LLMs in any capacity in your writing, please be honest about it and find another editor.
Moving on . . .
I'm not usually one to brag (I prefer when others tell me how great I am!), but this is what this section's for, so here it goes:
— I bring years of in-house and freelance experience to the table.
— I have a great eye for detail without ever losing sight of the big picture.
— I am easy to work with and generally pretty nice (if I do say so myself).
— I am very responsive and efficient and almost always return jobs early.
— I work on both fiction and non-fiction, but prefer working on fiction these days, especially literary fiction, LGBTQ+ fiction, and horror.
— If we're talking niches, mine is English-language books with a strong Spanish/Hispanic/Latino element, as I'm bilingual in Spanish and English and publishers often seek my specialized services for such jobs (take a look at my portfolio for examples).
— I'm also a teacher (Spanish and English), which means I'm used to explaining complex things in simple ways (and also that my patience is close to infinite).
I don't have any Reedsy reviews because I'm new to the platform, but here's what some of the people I've worked with say about me:
"Pedro is an exceptionally diligent and encouraging editor. He went above and beyond to respond to the specific concerns and questions I had for this project. As an independent author working in a new genre, his advice was especially invaluable. I can’t recommend his services highly enough."
— Max, independent LGBTQ+ non-fiction author
"I’d like to extend my sincere gratitude to you for all the painstaking work you’ve done with my manuscript. You have an impeccable eye for detail. I’m impressed! The book is immensely improved thanks to all your efforts. Having worked with copyeditors on numerous occasions before, I must say that you are a truly phenomenal reader and editor. I’m so glad that my manuscript ended up in your hands!"
— Dr Andrew Lynch, author of Spanish in Miami
