Overview
Greetings to you, writers of all kinds of works,
My name is Marion. I am a writer myself, so I know there are high stakes riding on each phase of the editorial process! As an established proofreader, I hold myself to those high standards when working with writers to make their project the best it can be.
I have a no-nonsense portfolio of manuscripts under my belt, from thrillers to vulgarized science texts, from graphic memoirs to contemporary works of fiction. Since 2022 I have worked freelance for Macmillan Publishing—with editors for Henry Holt & Co., Fablelistik Editions, Flatiron Books, and Celadon Books divisions—as well as for a variety of independent authors, artists, and doctoral candidates and researchers (for CUNY Graduate School in New York and for the Master Exerce in Montpellier, France, often for ESL authors). I have a strong command of editing standards, and excellent know-how with the Chicago Manual of Style. I never miss a deadline, because I like to get into the work straight away once I receive your pages, and to see what lies in store.
If I confirm a project with you, I will be sure to be in touch right away if any questions arise, so that your time is not wasted and you get the quality editorial job that you paid for!
Having studied non-fiction writing as my Bachelor of Arts at The New School (NYC, 2013), and having completed a Master in Research & Performance "sur scène" (Montpellier, France, 2021), I have always been compelled by the art and science of words, language(s), composition, and poetry, and by the overall balance of consistency and legibility with style.
. . . That was a long sentence. If you had written such a sentence, maybe I would query it to ask if there were not a better way to say what you want to say, in a more concise way? For now, though, I will leave it as it is [stet], because the way it meanders and accumulates meaning is a bit like my editing career.
Please reach out with any questions: I am accepting new clients for 2026.
Best wishes for your projects past, present, and future,
Marion
