As an editor at a leading NYC-based independent publisher, I have worked with authors such as Shark Tank star Mark Cuban, Brian Fetherstonhaugh, Mark Waldman, Libby Gill, and Derek Lidow (nonfiction), and Tina Leonard, Lisa Super, Kevin Munoz, and Neil Plakcy (fiction). I specialize in business, memoir, true crime, and thrillers, but have a wide variety of editing experience across a host of categories. I was previously an Associate Editor for the leading global business book publisher, where I brought to market industry-leading titles like Peter Block's THE EMPOWERED MANAGER 2E, Jeb Blount's FANATICAL PROSPECTING, Mark Horstman's THE EFFECTIVE MANAGER, Alejandro Cremades' THE ART OF STARTUP FUNDRAISING, and Marc Sniukas' THE ART OF OPPORTUNITY. I also hold a Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Hunter College. I have a strong eye for language, plot, and narrative construction, and look forward to working with you to help make your project a success.
I acquire and edit across a range of nonfiction and commercial fiction genres, managing each title from acquisition through publication and beyond. My responsibilities include developmental and line editing, drafting marketing and cover copy, soliciting blurbs, and liaising with production, publicity, and marketing colleagues on approximately ten books/season.
As an Associate Editor in the Trade Business division of John Wiley and Sons, I acquired, edited, and managed 15-20 new titles per fiscal year in the categories of Leadership, Management, Innovation, Sales, Marketing, and Business Communication. I coordinated publicity and marketing efforts with authors and colleagues across a heavy frontlist, liaised with Wiley's Global Rights team to license translation and other subsidiary rights for front-and-backlist titles, worked with Wiley's legal counsel to draft and negotiate contracts, and maintained project budgets and timelines.
As an Editorial Program Coordinator in John Wiley and Sons' Business Development division, I worked with Wiley's global teams in business, finance, and accounting to identify and pursue partnerships and acquisitions that would support growth strategies, drive revenue, and expand market reach.
As a Senior Editorial Assistant in John Wiley and Sons' Trade Finance division, I provided dual assistance to the VP & Publisher of Finance and Director of Content Development and Assembly. I liaised with authors on new projects, developed over 15 manuscripts/year in the areas of Finance, Wealth Management, Nonprofit, and Investment Banking, helped to manage the production and finances fo the CFA Institute proprietary course material, and oversaw the GARP and Wiley digital partnership/member benefit program.
