Leya Booth

Leya Booth – Editor

What a life! I get to edit books--especially true crime, self-help, and dark fiction--and gently help authors share their passions.

Overview

I have been a professional editor for over 10 years. From line editing to proofreading, I have worked on almost every genre of book from true crime to self help, from memoirs to horror. While I will edit anything, I especially love true crime, dark fiction, self help and other nonfiction.

I believe in teamwork throughout the editing process. This is your book, and I want to honor your voice, your vision, your message. I offer gentle critiques and positive encouragement as we work together to ensure your book is the best it can be.

In my spare time, I commune with my menagerie of cat muses and do jigsaw puzzles.

Do you have a book on paper but no computer version of it? Whether it is hand written or typed, I can also help you get your document back onto the computer, and edited cleanly.

Do you have an audiobook that needs proofreading? I can do that too.

I enthusiastically recommend Leya as a both a copy editor and story editor. Her professionalism, attention to detail, and command of language makes me a better writer. - Eric Miller; Writer, Editor, and Publisher; Big Time Books

Leya has worked on several of my manuscripts over the years. She is a whip smart editor, thorough, and always a reliable professional. - Harry Shannon, Author of the Mick Callahan Series

I have retained the services of Leya for several years as a general editor, copy editor, and proofreader. Yes, she’s a triple-threat in the editing world. Leya is efficient and proficient. She is careful and knowledgeable. She has the editor’s “ear” that hears clunky dialogue and recalls prior passages that affect the logic of later ones. I recommend her wholeheartedly for editing and/or proofreading. - Paul Levine; Amazon Number One Bestselling Author of the "Jake Lassiter" and "Solomon vs. Lord" series.

It was lovely to work with Leya. She was kind and informational in the writing process. I am new to publishing work, so it was helpful to get feedback from her. I appreciated her encouragement along the way and how responsive she was to my messages. I hope to work with her again in the future.

Leya was absolutely amazing. Her work was not only meticulous but prompt. She made excellent suggestions and identified areas that could be confusing. I learned more about writing and style just from her edits. If you want an editor who has an eye for detail and at the same time can look at the flow of the overall work, then Leya is the person for you.
