Leslie Copeland – Editor

I specialize in fast, high-quality editing and coaching for professional and high-output authors and publishers in commercial fiction.

Overview

High-Performance Editing for High-Output Authors

Are you an author juggling multiple book releases and need an editor who can keep up? I specialize in fast, high-quality editing for authors in thrillers, sci-fi, LitRPG, paranormal romance, and mystery, with a focus on tight, engaging, and market-ready storytelling.

I work with bestselling indie authors, small publishers, and multi-author collaborations who need efficient, professional editing. With a sharp instinct for story, I naturally track continuity, pacing, and series arcs, ensuring consistency across books.

What I Offer

*Fast, precise editing—I often turn around a 40k manuscript in a week.

*Developmental editing & feedback—inline comments, a detailed editorial letter, and an optional annotated outline for major structural revisions.

*Series editing & continuity tracking—I maintain a spreadsheet-based style sheet for long projects to track world-building, timeline consistency, and recurring characters.

*Multi-author & publisher experience—I help smooth out differences in tone, pacing, and series vision across co-writing teams.

*Coaching for experienced authors—I help refine craft and troubleshoot, not teach the basics.

Who I Work With

I specialize in commercial fiction authors who write fast and publish frequently. My ideal clients are experienced writers who need an editor who understands genre conventions, rapid production schedules, and long-term series planning.

If you need someone who’s as fast, efficient, and invested in storytelling as you are, let’s talk.

Experience & Background

I have an M.A. in English Studies and formal training in editing. I’ve worked with USA Today Bestsellers, International Bestsellers, and Amazon All-Stars, editing over 100+ manuscripts. I also bring firsthand storytelling expertise, having authored 22 books in YA Fantasy, LGBTQ Fantasy, Horror, and Science Fiction.

My editing philosophy is rooted in clarity, efficiency, and actionable feedback. I give practical, genre-sensitive insights that help you sharpen your manuscript without compromising your voice.

*Past clients include: Fairfield Publishing, Kearney Street Books, and individual bestselling authors.

*Editing methods: Simultaneous visual + audio editing to catch the smallest details.

Let’s make your next book your best one yet!
