Overview
Clarity of expression is my primary concern as an editor. This entails distinctness of voice, lexical and grammatical elegance, and momentum of argument. I want your text to be as enjoyable to read and as true to your intentions as possible. As your editor, I will be candid, often elucidating the rationale of my suggestions.
My studies in Philosophy (BA) and Architecture (M.Arch.) and my professional work in architectural practice and discourse have allowed me to develop a sensitivity to the craft of language.
I began editing professionally while in architecture school, for my then-professor, Hans Ibelings, publisher and historian behind The Architecture Observer. Since, aside from continuing to work on Architecture Observer books, I have enjoyed a role at the Canadian Centre for Architecture entailing research, authoring, co-authoring, developmental and copy editing, and proofreading for essays, articles, institutional texts, exhibitions, films, lectures, public communications, and, of course, books.
I offer services as a developmental editor, copy editor, and proofreader.

Work experience
Canadian Centre for Architecture
I work, from development to completion, on a wide variety of the Director's published essays and interviews, lectures, and institutional texts. I also work in research and editorial capacities on the CCA's printed books, web articles, exhibitions, and film productions.
Office of Adrian Phiffer
I was a lead designer in this firm that specialised in architectural competition entries, a substantial aspect of which is textual. We won honourable mention in one of these and were finalists in another. I was also a writer, director, composer, animator, and editor on a short animated film produced by the office.
