Overview
I'm an experienced copy editor and proofreader and an avid reader with a keen eye for spotting glitches in grammar, spelling, and syntax. I recognize that even small mistakes in copy can undermine credibility, so I make it my business to ensure that any prose I’m reviewing is grammatically correct and devoid of typos.
I majored in English at the University of Wisconsin and later worked on the editorial staff at The New Yorker magazine. I started out in the word processing department, which was an excellent training ground for a nascent copy editor, since several iterations of a manuscript crossed my desk as it went through the stages of editing, fact-checking, copyediting, and proofreading. This inspired me to get my copyediting certificate from NYU. Lately most of my freelance work has revolved around architecture and urban design, but I've also enjoyed working in memoir, art, and fiction.
I'm easy to communicate with and available to discuss your project and provide updates as needed. Your input is invaluable, and I am committed to maintaining an open line of communication throughout our collaboration.
