Laureen Cantwell – Editor

I’m an academic librarian, by day, but also love editing books. I co-edited Memphis Noir (fiction anthology, Akashic Books), and have edited non-fiction/academic works as well (e.g., most recently, Finding Your Seat at the Table [Rowman & Littlefield, 2022]). Hoping to help more writers bring their projects to fruition!Thus far, most of my work has been with fiction anthologies -- short stories with an overall theme, e.g. noir. These stories have ranged in their writing style and additional themes from true crime to dystopian, and their authors have ranged from literary fiction writers and poets to science fiction writers. My non-fiction work has been within the social and health sciences, typically at the graduate level (masters theses; doctoral dissertations) as well as with scholarly articles and book chapters. As an avid reader, I'd love to work more with literary fiction, romance, dystopian fiction, and more. I do have some experience working with graphic novellas and their creators through a piece in Memphis Noir (perhaps their only graphic story from their whole noir series!) -- and I'd love to get into working with cookbooks and poetry.
