Lane Heymont

Lane Heymont – Editor

I'm a literary agent with specialization in science fiction, fantasy, horror and non-fiction proposals.

Overview

I have worked in the publishing industry for 12+ years with a successful track record of editing and selling SFF, horror, and non-fiction projects in both the adult and young adult market.

My editorial services focus on developing and fine-tuning a project before it's submitted to agents or publishers for consideration. This includes an editorial letter which addresses world-building, plot/structure, character development, and consistency.

I'm also available to provide shorter editorial letters with inline comments, via TrackChanges, addressing aspects which may need more developing.

I especially enjoy building non-fiction proposals and am more than happy to help you build one.

Upcoming projects I have edited, developed, and sold include:

Johnny Compton — THE SPITE HOUSE (Tor/Nightfire)

Donyae Coles — MIDNIGHT ROOMS (HarperCollins/Amistad)

Suzanne Young — IN NIGHTFALL (Delacorte) WHAT STAYS BURIED (Harper's Children)

Dr. Robin George Andrews — SUPER VOLCANOES (Norton), HOW TO KILL AN ASTEROID (Norton)

Diana Rodriguez Wallach — SMALL TOWN MONSTERS (Underlined), HATCHET GIRLS (Delacorte)

Hailey Piper — A LIGHT MOST HATEFUL (Titan Books)

Cynthia Pelayo — FORGOTTEN SISTERS (Thomas & Mercer)

Wendy N. Wanger — GIRL IN THE CREEK (Tor/Nightfire)

****My services as a freelance editor are wholly separate from my position as a literary agent, which means I cannot and will not consider or represent any project I review/edit as an editor. Nor will I refer you to another agent and/or publisher. This is my profession and I will not partake in any, or implied, pay for play or conflict of interest. These services are only meant to help you strengthen your project for the next stage in your journey.***
