Overview
I began my career in publishing at the age of 17, when I signed with my first literary agent. Since then, I have published seven novels, one of which, The DUFF, was adapted to film in 2015. For the past five years, I've also worked as a Children's Book Writing instructor at the Gotham Writers' Workshop. Through Gotham, I have gained experience running workshops, giving critiques on manuscripts, doing private instruction with aspiring writers, and giving editorial assessments.
My strengths lie in identifying a stories structural strengths and weaknesses, as well as helping author's to craft more memorable and complex characters. I love and am open to reading YA and MG of all genres. I'm also passionate about representation - particularly LGBTQ+ and disability representation, as those are my personal experiences as a queer, visually impaired woman.
