Katie Rice – Marketer

Marketing professional working at Penguin Random House with experience in a range of genres. I specialize in social media, copy & email.

Overview

I'm a book marketer working for the largest publishing company in the world and have experience with a range of authors in all genres. I specialize in social media, copy, and email. My specialty is in making a big splash with a small budget. In the past I've run social media campaigns across Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest. In addition to paid advertising, I'm well versed in tactics for gaining organic reach and have an intimate understanding of the state of social media as it relates to the literary landscape. I have experience growing email lists, writing and creating monthly, weekly and one-off marketing emails and analyzing the results. In addition, I can help with choosing bisacs, writing copy, working on messaging and positioning for your book and more. I have experience across a range of titles and budgets, though my favorite genres to work on are literary fiction, non-fiction and women's fiction.

She prepared a very thorough proposal giving me reason to believe that the campaign would result in significant sales; it was on this basis that I hired her. I was disappointed in the execution which seemed less creative than the proposal. I had stressed the importance of communication and collaboration; t...
