Julie Lind

Julie Lind – Editor

Spanish-English bilingual writer, editor, and translator. Helping academic and creative writers perfect their manuscripts for publication.

Overview

I began my career in copywriting and editing and then moved into academia, specializing in literary studies and Spanish cultures. I have over a decade of experience working with academic, creative, and professional writers in the process of preparing their manuscripts for publication. Books I've edited have been published by Rowman and Littlefield, SUNY Press, and Bucknell University Press, among others. I am also a creative writer; I am currently in the process of revising two literary fiction manuscripts; I have published part of one and will publish both.

Editing services I offer range from basic proofreading to copyediting, line editing, and developmental editing, depending on the needs of the manuscript and writer. I am fluent in Spanish and English and edit in both languages. I always work in tracked changes and provide thorough comments along with my suggestions. I have been told I have an "eagle eye" for grammar. I have expertise in Chicago, APA, and MLA style guides and am adept at following formatting preferences of different presses.

I just finished revising my manuscript based on Julie's edits. It is a much better story now. Better flow and focus, and her thoughts helped me see alternative ways of phrasing some things and presenting scenes. Thank you again, Julie!
