Overview
I have taught storytelling technique at Warner Bros. Studios and the London Screenwriter's Festival.
I am the author of Just Effing Entertain Me: A Screenwriter's Atlas and my essay The Freaking Autumn of my life was featured in Ageing, an Apprenticeship, with fellow contributors Gloria Steinem, Judy Blume and Ellen Gilchrist.
I focus on working with fiction and creative non-fiction writers whether from an idea, a work-in-progress, manuscript evaluation or full substantive editing. I provide guidance, feedback, and suggestions about narrative style, dramatic structure, plot and character development, consistency, syntax and logic. I help ensure that your manuscript is an immersive, page-turning experience for readers.
My background as a Hollywood story analyst gives me a sharp eye toward the overall "entertainment factor" of your work.
Films I have story consulted on are:
*The Blue Dress *Oriented
*Five Hour Friends *The Last Hurrah
*(Holiday) Baggage
*The End Again
Films I have provided pre-production story analysis for:
*The Strangers
*Freedom Writers
*City of Ember
