Juliane Van Huizen – Designer

I'm a graphic designer based in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. I've been a jill-of-all-trades print designer for the past 15 years, with a recent focus on book cover design.

I aim to balance thoughtful type, layered textures, and compelling imagery to create covers that get to the heart of a story.

Books and stories have been a defining pillar of my life, and I'm quite certain they are the best tool we have for understanding one another. Long before I was a designer, I was a reader, scribbling doodles in the margins of my overdue library books. I now save the doodling for my design work, but my books are still overdue (sorry!).

When I'm not hunched over my computer, I'm thrifting, reading, or acting as an alpha reader for my ten year old's latest comic book (he just launched Cucumber Kid issue 1 volume 1).
